The Hague Conference on Business and Human Security

The Hague Institute for Global Justice and SPARK welcomed international experts and business entrepreneurs to a conference aimed at advancing international policy dialogue. The conference presented research on the private sector’s role in the promotion of human rights and peacebuilding in fragile and conflict-affected states.

The conference reviewed progress of the international business community in realizing commitments associated with the UN Global Compact and Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and their relationship to other normative frameworks.

Representatives from the private and public sector, civil society organizations and academia with expertise in sustainable human development and corporate social responsibility in fragile and conflict-affected states attended the 2-day conference.

Part 2 audio features the keynote luncheon by Ms. Selima Ahmad with an audience Q&A followed by the expert panel discussion on “New Silk Road Initiative” moderated by Hague Institute Head of Global Governance program, Dr. Richard Ponzio.
