Professor Dr. Dymph van den Boom

Rector and member of the Board of the University of Amsterdam and the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Sciences

On the supervisory board on behalf of The Association of Universities in the Netherlands. This is a shared position with Professor Dr. Paul van der Heijden.

Professor Dr. D.C. (Dymph) van den Boom (1951) has been Rector Magnificus and member of the board of the University of Amsterdam and the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Sciences since October 2007. From 2001 to 2007, she served as Dean of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Amsterdam. She has been working at the University of Amsterdam as Professor of Education since 1996.

Dymph van den Boom studied psychology and within the field of educational sciences, she is a prominent researcher, both nationally and internationally. She has produced a wide range of publications on developmental issues in early childhood development and psychopathology. In the early eighties she was a fellow at the Universities of Indiana, Minnesota and Harvard and was then appointed to Leiden University.
