Originally from Belfast, Odhrán has a keen interest in international affairs and conflict resolution. Odhrán holds a First Class BA Hons in History from the University of Liverpool. In addition, he recently completed an MA in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University’s Institute of Irish Studies, writing his dissertation on the role of women in grassroots peacebuilding in Northern Ireland. Whilst studying, Odhrán volunteered at a refugee center and with a disability support group.
Odhrán has previously worked in the Irish Embassy in London and in Northern Ireland’s diplomatic mission to the United States where he gained experience in policy research and diplomacy. In 2014, he was selected to the Washington Ireland Programme for Service and Leadership, during which he worked in a team committed to promoting integrated education in Northern Ireland.
