Minister Ploumen Delivers Speech at the Platform’s Conference

On 25 April the Knowledge Platform Security & Rule of Law organized a conference to update the involved organizations on the work of the platform. During the closing session, Mrs. Minister Lilianne Ploumen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, gave a speech on Dutch foreign policy on fragile and conflict-affected states. She gave an overview of the Dutch work in the field of Security & Rule of Law and highlighted the importance of the five knowledge platforms the Dutch government recently established.

The purpose of the conference was to inform stakeholders of the findings of the working groups, and to discuss global trends in the field of security and rule of law in fragile and conflict-affected environments in order to further expand the knowledge agenda for the future.

Also, the vision and organizational developments of the Knowledge Platform, its goals and ambitions were presented by the Steering group. Since knowledge exchange is one of the main goals of the Knowledge Platform there was enough time for participants to meet, discuss and share views with one another. Around 130 attendees took part in the conference.
