Global Climate Governance at the Intersection of Human Security & Justice

The Hague Institute and the Stimson Center co-hosted an informal consultation with country delegates, civil society representatives, policy analysts and other climate governance stakeholders on behalf of the Commission on Global Security, Justice & Governance. The Commission is a select group of eminent statespersons and public intellectuals, co-chaired by former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright and former Foreign Minister of Nigeria Professor Ibrahim A. Gambari.

This breakfast Expert Consultation offered preliminary ideas on global governance reform from the Commission’s “Climate & People” research track and invite feedback and further ideas from participants. The Expert Consultation was chaired by Commissioner Mrs. Erna Witoelar (Founder of the Indonesian Environmental Forum and Former UN Special Ambassador for the MDGs).

Climate governance experts are also invited to sign up for the second online-consultationbeing organized for the ‘Climate & People’ research track of the Commission on Global Security, Justice and Governance from January 12th to February 13th 2015. The E-consultation served as a forum for climate governance experts to respond to and provide inputs for thought-provoking ideas for climate governance reform which will be presented to the Commission for consideration.
